Alcohol has a devastating effect on all organs in our body.  3.5 million people die each year due to alcohol-related causes.  Alcohol, which has serious damages on all organs and systems from the liver to the lungs, from the heart to the brain, begins to have a destructive effect by reaching all cells 3 minutes after ingestion.
 
 SOUND:

 Alcohol has a toxic effect on the liver.  Liver cells are damaged by alcohol and undergo structural changes.  Alcohol-related liver diseases form a picture that can lead to the simplest fatty liver, then alcohol-induced hepatitis and ultimately cirrhosis.


 LUNGS:

 The risk of tuberculosis is 28 times higher in alcohol users.  Acute pneumonia may occur due to stomach contents entering the lungs during vomiting.

 

 PREGNANCY:

 Alcohol use harms the baby's brain and heart development by causing fetal alcohol syndrome in the unborn baby.  If pregnant women drink alcohol, the alcohol enters the bloodstream and passes through the placenta to the fetus.  Birth defects such as growth retardation in the baby and damage to the brain and nervous system may occur.  Alcohol negatively affects the fetus at all stages, but it causes much more serious harm, especially in the first months.

 SKIN:

 Alcohol causes redness and swelling due to dilation of the veins and more blood coming to the skin.  It causes permanent redness on the skin.

 

 BRAIN:

 Alcohol negatively affects brain function.  In the short term, it can lead to accidents that can even result in death due to impaired thinking, decision-making and acting abilities.  In the long run, it causes dementia as a result of the death of brain cells.

 

 EYE:

 Alcohol affects the visual nerves from the brain to the eyes, causes yellowing and numbness in the pupils, and causes damage to the eyes, which can lead to blindness with visual disorders.

 

 REPRODUCTIVE:

 Alcohol causes disorders in the reproductive system in men and women.  While alcohol use has a decreasing effect on sexual power in men, it causes impotence.
